Show Us Your Mu-ves at the National Football Museum with George Sampson

A few weeks ago we were invited to the National Football Museum in Manchester to meet George Sampson and try out some yummy Mu cheese!

We're regular visitors to the National Football Museum, it's a great place to visit as a family and, as a family of football fans, somewhere to indulge our love of the game. We arrived late to the event, thanks to the cross city Metrolink construction, so we missed our chance to taste the Mu range of cheese. George Sampson was already well in to showing the children his routine that he has put together especially for the 'Show Us Your Mu-ves' campaign. Bud very quickly joined his friends, the children from My Mummy's Pennies, in copying George's moves!



He was very patient with the children and Bud loved dancing with him. He was very happy to pose with Bud and my niece and nephew after the event too!

Afterwards we had time to explore the National Football Museum. We've all visited before but this time we were supplied with some Football+ tickets which allowed us to play the many games located around the museum. The Show Us Your Mu-ves campaign is all about getting kids active and the children definitely did that with the Football+ activities!


If you're unfamiliar with the NFM you won't know that it's housed in a truly stunning building in the heart of Manchester. I've loved it since it was built and it's the perfect home for the museum celebrating our national game.

The museum itself is packed with exhibits tracing the history of the game right up to the present day. The memorabilia is endless and fans of most clubs should find something to give them that 'wow' moment. There is a cinema which shows 'Our Beautiful Game' - an award winning short film which showcases a month in English Footall at all of it's levels. We all really enjoyed this and found it really compelling.


In between admiring the exhibits, investigating the interactive stations and challenging ourselves on the Football+ activities it was a really fun day! Finished off nicely with a run in the Exchange Square fountains and ice cream, of course!
