What We Did On Our Holiday

This week sees the release of a brand new British comedy. Starring the rather fantastic David Tennant alongside Rosamund Pike and Billy Connolly, 'What We Did On Our Holiday' is the new film from the creators of the BBC's hit family comedy Outnumbered.

The film sees Doug (David Tennant) and Abi (Rosamund Pike) road tripping to Scotland to celebrate Doug's father Gordi's (Billy Connolly) birthday, accompanied by their three gorgeous, and very funny children. Described as 'funny, honest and uplifting' the film sounds like the perfect anecdote to the 'back to school blues'.

If you would like to see a little more of the film then check out the trailer:

I think it would make the perfect date night film for parents, or family film for those with children a bit older than mine (although LM did enjoy dancing to the Mungo Jerry in the trailer!)

To celebrate the release of the film we were to record what we got up to on our holiday. We went away to Staffordshire and Shropshire on a day at Drayton Manor theme park, especially Thomas Land and then a trip to see friends and explore history at Blists Hill Victorian Town in Shropshire. It's really helpful to be reminded that video is an excellent way to capture our time together as a family, although our exploits weren't as hilarious as the family in the film! Here's our video, I think it shows how different, but equally fun our two days out were!

What We Did On Our Holiday is out in cinemas, this Friday, 26th September. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. Will you be going to see it?

What did you do on your holiday?
