Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie - Combat Warrior Raphael

Bud is a huge TMNT fan. He loves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and they are all he wants for Christmas this year. His favourite turtle changes by the day but recently he has been loving Raphael so it was very timely when we received Combat Warrior Raphael from Flair's range of toys released in conjunction with the brand new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie which was out this Summer.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie - Combat Warrior Raphael

Combat Warrior Raphael is an action figure who looks exactly the same as his character from the movie. This is quite different to the Raphael fans will know and love and the movie Turtles toys are described as the scariest and most highly detailed ever! The figure are very detailed and are very textured with lots of fine detail to explore. The Combat Warrior figures stand around 15cm tall and come complete with their trademark weaponry. In Raphael's case this is his twin Sai. Unlike the other TMNT figures we have his weapons aren't removable. Bud found this slightly frustrating at first but now doesn't mind at all and, from a parent's perspective, there won't be any small swords lost under the bookcase anytime soon!

The range of Combat Warrior figures have a special 'slashing' motion. To perform this you simply squeeze the legs of the turtle together and you will see his arms and head move position. This is quite unique, we've never had a figure which does this before and Bud loves making 'Movie Raphael' as he calls him, fight with his other figures. You can see from the photos that he stands up really well, another thing Bud loves. Some action figures can be tricky for little boys to position exactly as they like!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie - Combat Warrior Raphael Slashing Action

When I first saw the movie Turtles I was a little taken aback, I had planned to take Bud to see the film but I thought he might be scared of the bulked up action heroes. As he's only four and a half and the film is classified 12A I think it will be a while before he sees it. He is genuinely delighted with his new Raphael though and not at all bothered by the rather drastic change in appearance! When I saw photos of the figure I didn't expect to like him but his face has actually grown on me and I do think this range, though quite different, really adds well to the existing range of Turtles toys.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie range of toys is available from Flair and all usual stockists. This figure retails with an RRP of £14:99 which I think is comparable to most other toys in the range and Combat Warrior Raphael gets a definite thumbs up from Bud.
